Dr Nicola Tyler

Lecturer

Dr Nicola Tyler is Zimbabwean by birth. Growing up in an environment where there was always an opportunity to be outdoors stimulated her interest in animals from an early age. She completed a BSc in Agric, MSc in Agric, and then a Phd in Animal Science at UKZN.
Her main interest is in the reproduction and fertility of farm animals, and she is currently investigating the effects of lighting programmes on the fertility of male broiler breeders. She is interested in the relationship between photoperiod and fertility in an effort to maximise fertility in broiler breeder flocks.
