Dr. Nicola Tyler

Lecturer

I am a Zimbabwean by birth, and growing up in an environment where there is always opportunity to be outdoors stimulated my interest in animals from an early age. I completed a BSc Agric, MSc Agric and then a Phd in Animal Science at at UKZN.

My main interest is in reproduction and fertility of farm animals and I am currently investigating the effects of lighting programmes on the fertility of male broiler breeders. I am interested in the relationship between photoperiod and fertility in an effort maximise fertility in broiler breeder flocks.
