Prof Mark Laing


Prof Mark Liang started lecturing in Plant Pathology in 1984, became the Professor and Chair of Plant Pathology in 2000, and became a Senior Professor in 2006. He will retire at the end of 2022 but has been appointed a Professor Emeritus from January 2023. He has published over 500 publications and has graduated over 180 PhD and MSc students.
He’s also a Past President of the South African Society of Plant Pathology and was elected a Fellow of the SASPP in 2022.
