Dr Carlos Loureiro

Honorary Research Fellow & Lecturer in Physical Geography

Dr Loureiro is marine geoscientist working on the coasts of South Africa, Portugal, Scotland and Ireland on a variety of research projects that normally include many hours on a beach and at sea collecting data and being rocked by some stormy waves. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at UKZN and Lecturer in Physical Geography at the University of Stirling in Scotland. He held a prestigious EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, during which he explored the nearshore response to extreme storms in eastern South Africa.
